Moment Of Mine
I sit at this table,
during study hall,
my mind drifts away,
and I get away from it all.
I'm sitting on the beach,
with my toes in the sand,
the only sound is the ocean,
I touch the waves with my hand.
The cool breeze is silk on my skin,
making my hair lightly blow,
I look up at the sky,
the twinkling stars brightly glow.
I dust off a shell in my hand,
and admire the colorful shine,
I breathe in deep the cool midnight air,
this wonderful moment is mine.
The ocean grows louder,
heavy wind starts to blow,
then the bell rings,
It's time to go.
Name Poems
Spiderman
Swinging from the buildings,
Peter looks for trouble,
In alleys,
Down town,
Everywhere on the double,
Reeling in the bad guys,
Mary Jane is safe now,
And a kiss is his reward,
Never felt this great, wow!
Soap
Squeaky clean,
Odor free you will be,
Always slippery,
Pick up with caution.

Intoxicated
The sign says 45.
The speedometer says 77.
Too fast.
Alcohol stains my breath.
It warps my mind and I don’t care.
The road is a blur.
The car sways like a cradle.
Red and blue lights twinkle in my rear view mirror.
The roaring of sirens fill my ears.
The car wants to steer left so I jerk it right.
Too far.
The road turns into grass.
I push on my breaks and I am moving no more.
A car door slams.
I hear yelling but I don’t listen.
My door opens and I am shoved into the grass.
My wrists are latched together.
Too tight.
I’m taken away.
I stand behind cold bars.
I realize what I did.
Too late.

Thunder
Crashing down from the sky,
Thrashing,
Roaring in the heavens,
Slam,
Anger in the clouds,
Bang,
Smashing the air,
Boom,
The thunder rolls.

Computer
Dear Computer,
All I wanted to do was check my mail,
I clicked the button and waited,
The hour glass popped up and I waited,
What is taking you so long?
The internet comes up,
Soon my screen is filled with pop-ups,
Why do you do this to me?
Then, you lock up,
Not even the mouse will move,
What’s wrong with you?
Next thing I know you reboot out of no where,
What made you do that?
I guess I’ll have to get a new computer now.
Sincerely,
Jenny
Jenny
Dear Jenny,
I would be happy to let you check your mail,
But, I am unable to,
You have filled my memory with junk,
It’s hard to process what you want me to do,
You don’t give me any time,
You have not given me a pop-up blocker,
How am I supposed to stop the pop-ups?
They are overwhelming and I am stuck,
If you cleaned me out once in a while
I wouldn’t over heat and have to restart myself,
I guess I should get a new owner.
Sincerely,
Computer

Snow
Melting, shiny snow
Blowing, falling from the sky,
Sticking to the grass.
